How are embryos and fetus different from each other?

Handbook on Fetus and Embryo

Both the terms fetus & embryo are used for the baby’s growth when it is inside the mother’s womb. Here the womb is referred to as the uterus. The difference b/w both the factors is done by checking the gestational age. As you talk about embryos it is the early stage of human development and in this case, the growth of the body structure is extremely important.

Important NOTE!

Bear in mind! Even if you have conceived through the IVF treatment the embryo development is the same as that. In case, you are planning to get the IVF procedure then better ask the doctor all about the IVF cost in Bathinda.

The embryo takes the shape of the fetus when it begins to grow during the 11th week of pregnancy. Moreover, the zygote is a single-celled organism that results from the fertilized egg. Through the zygote, the cells are made which will then implant into the uterus wall. The cells are referred to as blastocyst which will then develop into the placenta and embryos. Your pregnancy will be dated from the first day of your menstrual cycle.

Embryo

Before ovulation, the 1 to 2 weeks are termed as pregnancy. As the 3rd week starts the egg is released or which is referred to as ovulation. As the week begins there will be human development as to what is needed.

Fetus

Following the embryonic period, there will be the end of the 10th week of pregnancy. Now! The embryo will be referred to as the fetus. The fetus will be referred to as the developing baby during the 11th week of pregnancy.

What Is A Blastocyst? How Does A Blastocyst Develop?

blastocyst culture

Blastocyst Culture + 5th Day Of The Embryo Transfer

In Blastocyst Culture Centre in Punjab when both the above-mentioned conditions are satisfied, then one can select the best qualities of the embryos for the transfer.

What exactly is a blastocyst?

  • The embryo which has developed after 5 to 7 of fertilisation has:

  • Two Distinct types of the cells

  • Central Cavity filled with the fluid

  • The surface cells surrounding the cavity are known as trophectoderm. Once done, these will later develop into the placenta

  • The centrally located group of cells is known as the inner cell mass. It will become a fetus after that.

How does a blastocyst develop?

Here are some of the features of the Blastocyst formation:

  • The formation of the blastocyst is usually done on the 5th day as the fluids start getting built up inside the compacted morula.

  • The health blastocyst usually begins with the hatching that comes with the outer shell. It is called the zona pellucida.

  • Within just 24 hours after the hatching, the implantation of the embryo begins which invades the uterine line and gets settled there to form the fetus

  • The blastocyst releases the HCG hormone which gets leaked in the blood of the mother as the embryo implants itself.
